mrsnowgysport : Last Season’s Title Rivals Do Battle, Pep Takes On Pulis – Premier League Preview

Liverpool have sealed two more victories in the last week, beating both West Brom and Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League and League Cup, respectively.

Last weekend was a perfect one for Jurgen Klopp, with Chelsea the only other top-four rival to walk away with all three point.

The Blues destroyed Man United 4-0, while Man City, Spurs and Arsenal could only draw. Everton, meanwhile, were beaten 2-1 late on at Burnley.

Liverpool face what could be a tough trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday – a ground where they have suffered plenty of misery down the years.

It is one of 10 top flight games to look forward – here’s a look at the best of the upcoming action.

Last Season’s Title Rivals Do Battle

It still seems hard to believe that Leicester City are the current reigning champions, especially given their average start to this season.
Although Arsenal ended up finishing second in 2015/16, it was Spurs who were Leicester’s biggest rivals for much of the campaign, and they face each other at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
The hosts are still undefeated in the league this season, although back-to-back draws against Bournemouth and West Brom mean Mauricio Pochettino could do with a win.
Leicester, meanwhile, will have been buoyed by their 3-1 victory at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, as they look to find some much-needed momentum.
They have shipped 11 goals in away matches against Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea, however, so Spurs will fancy their chances.

Pep Takes On Pulis

After a stunning start to life in England, Pep Guardiola is feeling the heat for the first time, enduring his worst run of results in management.
The Spaniard is reportedly surprised by the sheer intensity of managing a Premier League club, and his Man City side have not won in the league in three attempts.
On Saturday, Guardiola takes his side to the Hawthorns to do battle with Tony Pulis’ West Brom – a match that is never much fun for the opposing team.
The Baggies may well play the least attractive football in the division, but as they showed at Anfield last weekend, they never give up and they will always provide their opponents with a physical battle.
You would expect City’s quality to shine through in the end, but the longer they go without breaking the deadlock, the more frustrated they will get.

Saints Eye Another Upset

Southampton deserve enormous credit for the way in which they keep responding from losing a top class manager.
There were plenty who tipped them to struggle in 2016/17, having lost Ronald Koeman to Everton, but they have been excellent, and currently lie eighth in the table.
The football they play is intricate and aesthetically-pleasing, and as their 1-1 draw at Man City last Sunday showed, their game also possesses plenty of substance.
Virgil van Dijk and Jose Fonte are an excellent centre-back pairing, while the likes of Jordy Clasie, Steven Davis, Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond bring quality in midfield and attack.
The Saints host Chelsea this weekend, in what has the potential to be the most interesting match of Gameweek 10.
Antonio Conte’s men are flying after a rocky patch, and a win at St Mary’s would really suggest that they are right in the title mix.

Moyes’ Last Game At Sunderland?

David Moyes’ Sunderland have endured a disastrous start to the season, picking up just two points from their first nine matches.
It is their worst ever opening to a Premier League campaign.
Moyes is the firm bookies’ favourite to be the next top flight manager sacked, and things don’t get any easier, with Arsenal visiting the Stadium of Light on Saturday lunchtime.
Should they lose yet again, especially if the defeat is convincing, it may well prove to be the final nail in Moyes’ coffin.
Arsenal surprisingly drew 0-0 at home to Middlesbrough last weekend, and Arsene Wenger will have his side fired up against limited opposition.
The Gunners are usually experts at dispatching of the weaker teams, regardless of their slip-up against ‘Boro, and anything other than all three points would be a shock.

Must-Win Game For Mourinho

It has been a rather bizarre start to life at Man United for Jose Mourinho, and the 4-0 defeat at former club Chelsea was humiliation at its finest.
The Portuguese looks a far cry from the charismatic figure who arrived in England in 2004, and there are real question marks about the job he is doing at Old Trafford.
This Saturday sees United host Burnley, and it is a match that Mourinho’s men simply have to win, even though Wednesday’s League Cup victory over City eased the pressure somewhat.
Sean Dyche’s men have really struggled away from home this season, and for all their fighting spirit and team ethic, the quality they possess is lacking.
With United’s five biggest rivals at the top all looking strong, despite the odd dropped point here and there, they cannot afford to lose further ground.

mrsnowgysport : Mourinho Shocks Manchester United Players With Cold Approach In Training Following Defeat From Chelsea

The Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho has apparently shocked his players by not leading training himself, preferring to sit in his office and watch from a distance Manchester United's stars are shocked at Jose Mourinho's "cold" and "distant" approach in training following their 4-0 loss at Chelsea, according to The Times.
The Portuguese suffered his heaviest-ever Premier League defeat on Sunday at Stamford Bridge and blasted his side's "incredible defensive mistakes" after the result.

Mourinho kept up his line of accusation ahead of their EFL Cup fourth round clash against Manchester City in midweek, calling the players "boys", and it appears his approach in training reflects his attitude towards his squad at the moment.

It is claimed that it is Rui Faria, Mourinho's assistant, who is leading training at the club's Carrington complex. Mourinho, meanwhile, is alleged to watch from a distance or work in his office most of the time.

The cold treatment has reportedly come as an unpleasant surprise to those who thought Mourinho would give them special attention.

The Times claims that Mourinho has no intention of changing his approach to the Man Utd squad he inherited from Louis van Gaal any time soon either.

Mrsnowgysport: Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy shortlisted on the 2016 Ballon d'or

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have been named on the 2016 Ballon d’Or award shortlist for the world’s best player.
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero also feature.
Other Premier League names on the list are West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet and Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi are included.
Bale scored three goals as Wales reached the Euro 2016 semi-final and won the Champions League with Real alongside Ronaldo.

Pogba, Payet and Lloris are included after finishing runners-up with France to Ronaldo’s Portugal at Euro 2016.
Luis Suarez and Neymar are included alongside Barcelona team-mate Messi, the trio having scored 106 club goals combined in 2016.
France Football magazine revealed the 30-man shortlist on Monday.
Fifa ended its association with the award in September.
The prize has been awarded by France Football every year since 1956, but for the past six years it became the Fifa Ballon d’Or in association with world football’s governing body.
Five Premier League players – City’s Aguero, De Bruyne and Yaya Toure, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard – made a 23-man shortlist last year, with Bale the only British player on the list.
Ibrahimovic and Pogba were also included last time for their performances for Paris St-Germain and Juventus respectively.
The shortlist has traditionally been trimmed to three players before the awards evening in January.

mrsnowgysport : Manchester United disgraced by a superb Chelsea team

Chelsea produced a masterclass  display to ensure Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge ended in a humbling 4-0 defeat. They played the match according to the script.
Mourinho's team, without captain Wayne Rooney due to injury, were stunned when Pedro rounded David de Gea to score the quickest goal in the Premier League this season after just 30 seconds, and Gary Cahill doubled the lead after 21 minutes.

United were behind before even touching the ball as Pedro latched onto Marcos Alonso's pass and rounded the needlessly onrushing De Gea to slot home in the first minute.
The hosts continued to play with greater intensity and, after Hazard drilled wide from 18 yards, their lead was doubled when the Belgian's right-wing corner ricocheted off Ander Herrera and sat up for Cahill to slam home from six yards.
N'Golo Kante then completed the rout with Chelsea's fourth on 70 minutes as the visitors capitulated.
I will call this a match that they will simply want to forget because they were humiliated beyond redemption.

mrsnowgysport : Chelsea vs Manchester United match preview

The home support will bellow Matthew Harding’s name before kick-off in memory of the Chelsea vice-chairman, who died in a helicopter crash 20 years ago, though it will be José Mourinho who will be hogging the limelight. This is his first return to Stamford Bridge as manager of a rival Premier League club and many of those players who under-performed so badly last term will line up against his Manchester United side. “He deserves a good reception,” said Antonio Conte. “He is part of the story of this club.” Some of those on the pitch may have their own points to prove to the Portuguese. Both players have something to play for and whoever wins this match would definitely enter the top 4 this weekend.

mrsnowgysport : Arsenal Vs Middlesbrough match preview

What better present could Arsenal gift Arsène Wenger than three points and a seventh consecutive league win as he celebrates his 67th birthday on Saturday. Let alone the potential to claim top spot all for themselves. Meanwhile Middlesbrough are on a grim run of form having only won once from eight attempts. Aitor Karanka will have his work cut out to make his side believe they can stop Arsenal’s attacking force and spoil Wenger’s party.
If Arsenal should play the same way they have been playing all season then this match should be over before half time.

mrsnowgysport : Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur match preview

Bournemouth welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s side to a ground that has become something of a fortress recently. Eddie Howe’s team have recorded three consecutive home wins, although the size of the task ahead of them on Saturday needs no introduction.
They humiliated the last team they played last week but looking back to last season Tottenham humiliated them in a 5-1 encounter with Harry Kane notching a hat-trick for himself. I can say that this match will be a very different match because Howe has done something different to this team.

mrsnowgysport : Leicester vs Crystal Palace

Last season’s champions have made a below-par start to their title defence but their Champions League campaign is going more than people expected and with the way they have been playing we all can see that more preference has been placed on the champions league. Palace currently lie ninth, having been boosted in the transfer window by the arrival of Christian Benteke. The corresponding fixture last season was settled by a Jamie Vardy winner after his scoring prowess of scoring in 7 matches in a row.

Prediction : Leicester 1 : Crystal palace 0

mrsnowgysport : Man city Vs Southampton

Pep was not really himself during the pre-game press conference but the main point is if he follows Wednesdays night humiliation against Barcelona with another defeat or draw he might face a mini enquiry into why his team has failed to win for five games now.
Claude Puel’s side are unbeaten in the league since 10 September and up to eighth but it will still be a shock if the leaders are unable to defeat them.

mrsnowgysport : Swansea Vs Watford match preview

Swansea vs Watford probable line up

Swansea were the first side in the top flight to make a managerial change, dispensing with the services of Francesco Guidolin during the international break and appointing the experienced Bob Bradley in his place. There were plenty of encouraging signs for the American in his first game in charge, as his side narrowly lost to Arsenal.
Watfords bavk line has been shaky aloy but Etienne Capoue has been this season’s revelation, netting four goals in the opening eight games of the season.

mrsnowgysport : Chelsea probable line up against Man United

Willian and Oscar returned from Brazil on Thursday morning after having both suffered family bereavements in the same week, but may not be ready to start the match with only two training sessions under their belts.

I don't think Conte will want to change his back three that has been doing well of late. The only contention is just whether Willian  will be in the right frame of mind after just losing his mom.

Mrsnowgysport :Neymar signs new 5 years contract

http://mrsnowgy.blogspot.com/2016/10/mrsnowgysport-neymar-signs-new-5-years.html

Neymar has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until June 30, 2021 and also increasing his buyout clause to €222m next June and a year later rising to €250m.
He said "The players here are incredible and, from the outside, that intimidated me a bit before I joined.
"But as soon as I walked into the dressing room it was clear how down-to-earth they were," he went on. "I was really struck by that, and it helped me to settle in."

Mrsnowgysport : Chelsea vs Manchester United preview

Many Chelsea fans have been anticipating when their greatest ever coach will a make a return to the Stamford bridge after he was announced as the United's manager.
After all, Mourinho is regarded as one of Chelsea's greatest, if not their greatest, ever manager despite the Portuguese seeing his second spell in charts of the west London side come to an unexpected end last December.

With Mourinho moving on with Chelsea's Premier League rivals United and Antonio Conte doing a good job of picking up the pieces at Stamford Bridge, the clash between the Blues and the Red Devils this weekend will certainly be an intriguing affair.
Not only will it mark Mourinho's first game back at Chelsea since leaving 10 months ago, but it will also give both clubs the chance to move into the top four.
Both teams definitely have something to play for.
Mrsnowgy prediction:
Many punters have been saying that its going to probably be a draw with lots of exciting chances.
Chelsea 1 - Man Utd 2

Mrsnowgysport : Weekend stats that we need to take note of

  • If Sunderland fail to beat Stoke, it will be the third time in four seasons they have failed to win any of their opening eight league games.
  • Leicester's only win in 10 Premier League visits to Chelsea came in September 2000, when Muzzy Izzet and Stan Collymore both scored.
  • There has been a sending-off in each of the past three league games between Crystal Palace and West Ham.
  • Swansea are unbeaten in their past four Premier League games at Arsenal, winning the past three.
  • If Everton beat Manchester City, it would represent the Toffees' best start to a season since 1978.
Will there be another upset today? Will records be broken. Let's wait and see

mrsnowgysport : Can Mourinho deliver a win at Anfield

Both managers have called for calm among the fans at what could be the biggest game of the Premier League season so far.
But it could get heated on the pitch, too, in one of football's biggest rivalries, with plenty at stake as Liverpool host Manchester United on Monday (20:00 BST).
Jurgen Klopp's hosts are in red-hot form - having scored 12 goals in their past four games - while United have won only once in four league matches.
Jenas: "Liverpool are out-and-out favourites. I don't think Mourinho knows his best XI. You could pick Liverpool's team right now. You can't do that with United."
Mrsnowgysport: If Mourinho can just partner Herrera with Pogba at the middle of the park we will see something different from United and the match can be said to be even.

mrsnowgysport : Victor Moses could face premier league ban

The Chelsea midfielder, who was utilised by Antonio Conte as a wing-back in their last game against Hull, has been accused of feigning injury by the Nigerian Football Federation.
Players can be suspended in their domestic leagues if FIFA find they've dodged international duty for no good reason.
Following the Hull game Moses tweeted: "Unfortunately I'm feeling my hamstring and so the club medical team will be reviewing me. Will be working hard to get fit asap #CFC".
But apparently the Nigerian body aren't convinced Moses is really hurt.
“We know the two players had good games and there was no sign of injury on the duo during or after the game,” an NFF source toldCompletesportsnigeria.com.
“It came as a surprise to hear later that Moses was injured and that he would not be available for the game and [Isaac] Success finished his team’s game before claiming injury.”
“Honestly, they won’t go unpunished if our investigation turns out as we are suspecting,” added the source.
“In fact, we are considering writing a protest to FIFA if we find out that they connived with their respective clubs to feign injuries and stay away from the matches.”
The FIFA rules say a player without a legitimate reason to skip an international match are ineligible to play for their club during the international period.
And apparently a five-day ban can be imposed on players found to be swerving international duty.
The rulebooks says: “A player who has been called up by his association for one of its representative teams is, unless otherwise agreed by the relevant association, not entitled to play for the club… during the period for which he has been released or should have been released.
"This restriction on playing for the club shall, moreover, be prolonged by five days in the event that the player, for whatsoever reason, did not wish to or was unable to comply with the call-up.”
