POGBA BACKS RONALDO FOR BALLON D'OR AHEAD OF MESSI
Paul Pogba has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d'Or due to his title-winning form with Real Madrid and Portugal. The Madrid star scored the winning penalty as rivals Atletico were beaten in the Champions League final via a shootout, before guiding his country to a first ever major tournament win in Euro 2016 this summer.
Ronaldo watched long-time rival Lionel Messi pick up his fifth Ballon d'Or in January, ending his two-year streak to boost his overall tally to three.

But Pogba feels Ronaldo deserves to be awarded for his exploits thus far this season.
"You have [Lionel] Messi, you have Ronaldo. Honesty, I like them both. [Antoine] Griezmann has had an amazing year," he told ESPN Deportes.
